Six Generations of Burbidge
This year we wanted to do something I’ve never done before.
Be more open in sharing our journey and discussing the topics that are shaping our industry.
You may know we have been working with timber since 1867 and that the business has been passed down through generations of the Burbidge family.
It is something we am immensely proud of. Last year, George, joined the company as a Business Development Manager. He is the sixth generation of Burbidge to join the business, and we can honestly say this one feels the most exciting.

George has big plans to evolve the company in line with the ever-growing changes in modern technology and marketing. His energy and forward-thinking approach have prompted us to commit to communicating more regularly and sharing what we are doing, where we are heading, and how we see the market developing.
For decades, we have been known for our doors & accessories, and craftsmanship has always been at the heart of what we do here in the West Midlands. In 2020 we made the decision to expand into offering complete kitchens. The aim was simple, to support our retail partners with a comprehensive product offering and an exceptional service.

As we considered a name and clarified our ethos, one thing stood out. We are makers, not assemblers. Our kitchens are unique to their owners, not off the shelf. That belief led to the name Kitchen Makers. The quality and attention to detail that built our reputation in kitchen frontals remain exactly the same, but have been extended to encompass cabinetry and accessories as well, to help support our retail partners.
As we look to the future, our ambition is to bring Burbidge furniture to a wider audience through thoughtful partnerships and creative collaboration across the industry, continuing to set the standard for quality and enduring style.
We look forward to sharing more with you over the coming months.
